Nelly Gears Up For Brass Knuckles Tour

St. Louis rapper Nelly will be embarking on a nationwide tour next month in support of his fourth solo album titled Brass Knuckles. According to Ticketmaster, The Story of Brass Knuckles Tour' will kick off in Anaheim on September 14 and will wrap up in Minnesota on October 8th. Nelly will be releasing Brass Knuckles on September 16th.  The album will feature appearances from Usher, Ashanti, Ciara and Akon, among others.  read more »

My Gut Reaction: Lil' Kim - Hard Core (November 12, 1996)

Kimberly Jones, a (now former) member of the Junior M.A.F.I.A., a rap crew consisting entirely of weed carriers for the Notorious B.I.G., found success in hip hop by rhyming mostly about sex, a feat that guys in the genre do all the time, but in 1996, Lil' Kim was seen as both a breath of fresh air and a blasphemous heathen. She played up the sex-kitten role as much as possible, posing for several semi-nude shots (including those for her album's cover and liner notes), and embraced the persona of a tough-talking gangster's moll, all to the tune of several million albums being sold.  read more »

LL Cool J - Feel My Heart Beat f. 50 Cent

As the leaks from LL’s upcoming album, Exit 13, continue to surface YK shot over the Curtis assisted Feel My Heart Beat. I didn’t know what to expect when I saw the title and 50 Cent guest appearance on the tracklisting and I still don’t know what I think after hearing it a few times. I do know that Uncle L’s flow on this is wack as hell. I’ve actually decided, I don’t like the song now, because of that alone. Keeping that same style for the whole song was a bad move.  read more »
